Artistically Inked

Do you have a favourite stamp set? For me, Stampin' Up Artistically Inked stamp set would have to be one of my favourites.

This is the stamp set, if you haven't seen it. I'm not a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. The code for this set is #154542 and it is in the current (May 2022 - April 2023) catalogue, page 105.

This is my card.

I added the embossed card for the background.

Postcard

I don't normally create post cards, but for a challenge we had to with a Travel theme.

For my postcard, I used images from the Travel Mintay book which I cut out and then used a stamp from Kaisercraft for the sentiment.

I love the way it turned out.

I will definitely try a few more postcards.

Mini Canvas

Today I would like to share a mini canvas that I did.

I had heaps of chipboard alphabet pieces that I didn't use. So I used them as the background on my canvas. The butterflies are from Marta at Maremi Small Art.

The sentiments, I had in my stash - not sure where they are from.

I went over the alphabets with black gesso and then wiped gold wax over the top of it.

Dragon Box

Our 16 year old daughter is dragon mad.....she loves everything to do with dragons. So for her 16th birthday, I wanted to do something special for her.

Originally I wanted to do a Dragon album up for her - then I changed my mind and thought why not created a Book Box with a dragon eye on the front of it.

I watched heaps of you tube videos to try and work out how to create the eye part, as I've never done anything like this before.

I found some scrapbook paper that had a dinosaur eye on it from Uniquely Creative - the paper is called Roar, that I thought I could maybe use. Not sure if it's still available now though.

I then purchased some oval glass cabochons and some grey Sculpey Oven Bake Clay from Spotlight.

Then I created the dragon eye - had absolutely no idea what I was doing. This is the eye - not painted.

I thought it looked like a dragon eye. It's not the best, but I'm happy with it.

I purchased a book box from Bunnings. I then covered it with tissue paper to give the effect of the dragon skin.

Then glued the dragon eye to the from of the box. Then I painted it in black gesso. I highlighted certain parts with gold and blue wax.

I used stickers for the corners - not totally happy with that part - but time was running out and I needed to finish it.

Below are photos of the finished project. Overall, I'm impressed with how it turned out. Our daughter loved it.

Card or a Canvas

Today I want to share with you a project that originally started off as a card. I loved it so much that I turned it into a canvas.

When I started it, I had no idea where I was going with it. I saw something similar on Pinterest, and then started to play with the things that I had in my stash. The angel wing chipboard pieces, I had for some time and didn't quite know what to do with them.

Overall, I love the way that it turned out.
